2025 Christmas Newsletter Highlights

For those of you who didn't receive our paper newsletter at the end of last year, here are some highlights from 2025.

Restoring Dignity: The House Project

Our team led a project to renovate the home of a family living in dire conditions — infrastructure so poor it was affecting the children's mental health. With the support of dedicated donors and a few people and businesses in Brazil, the family was delivered a renovated home with a proper bathroom and kitchen. The result has been remarkable: the 14-year-old son is now on an apprenticeship scheme, and the mother has secured a job.

Champions of the Community

Our football programme saw incredible success. Three of our young players were part of the neighbourhood squad that won the State "Favelas Cup." One of these young men, who has been with the project since he was eight, was selected for the national team and recognised as Footballer of the Year for the state. Seeing him broadcast on national television has been a huge inspiration to every child in the community.

Sponsorship Making a Difference

Our sponsorship fund has already been changing individual lives. Funds allowed us to send boy 1 to a private speech therapist, leading to a referral for full-time school support. We were also able to take boy 2 to a private optician for glasses — he can finally see the school board! The team is now considering a new campaign to help provide students with school equipment they can’t afford, we’re investigating carefully what needs the council already covers and where our support is most needed.
